VOGUE ITALIA and new creative ventures on the Horizon…

One of my favorite girls and photographers to work with is Signe Moerkebjerg Sjostrom. Aside from raw talent, she embodies a unique quality of subtlety, chill and ‘lady boss-ness’ in her approach to every shoot I have done with her yet. Her energy makes me want to trust her and test new unexplored grounds.

The shot for Vogue Italia was all play one simple evening in Copenhagen during fashion week back in February 2013. Almost no makeup and messy hair, a bottle of wine and good company.

Later in May 2013, Signe and her good friend make up artist Karen Schnack, who did Vogue with us, came to LA and Las Vegas where we did numerous of editorials and campaigns. Not all of, which have been released yet.

One story is the ‘Femme Noir’ (picture above), which was a new experience to me. It is not easy to be photographed in the nude.

No matter what you do, I believe it is very important to give something of yourself. To leave some ‘blood’ on the stage. To contribute with something new and / or unexplored and sometimes I find that the simple choice is the better choice. Copy-paste becomes ‘uninteresting’ in the long run and everyone is unique so why not just try to be yourself and see what happens..?

I am not saying our little trio invented something new. Not at all. I’m just saying, we experimented and stepped out of the comfort zone and did something that felt unsafe and ‘real’ to us. At least to me it felt unsafe, and with that we all gained something and grew on some level.

Anyways, Signe and I are plotting a new shoot this month. We want to do something very provoking. Again, we want to step out of the comfort zone. I will keep you informed when it happens and post a few ‘behind the scenes’ shots.

But don’t go far! Tmro I am testing a new ‘signature facial’ at the famous SPA here in Copenhagen called Dollface. My skin is in dire need of some TLC after London and Fashion Week. Dry patches and break outs does not a happy KK make. Just saying! I will let you know how it goes and what wonders, if any, the new skin care products here in Scandinavia can do for you.
