The Royal Treatment

Too much sun in Los Angeles all year around, too little sun in London and Copenhagen. Long haul transatlantic flights, Fashion week, filming long hours, too much fatty and sugary food, alcohol, extremely late nights and early call times for the past months. It has all taken a toll on me and it’s definitely become visible that I am only human. So I do what every girl would do; I book a Spa appointment.

In NYC I always visit Christine Chin, in LA I prefer Vanessa Hernandez Skincare, and in Copenhagen I like Dollface (www.dollface.dk). I don’t get a facial very often (Around 4 times a year), so when I get one it has to be special. In general I don’t have the patience to sit or lie in a chair and get my face, hair or nails done unless it’s work. But I have to admit that visiting the right Spa is worth it long term. I love enjoying soft feet, beautiful hands, radiant skin and lush hair. All of the above make me feel more feminine, sexy and womanly. Perks I enjoy immensely.

Smack in the most exclusive neighborhood of central Copenhagen is the beauty house Dollface frequented by many of Denmark’s models, celebs, and beauty connaisseurs. The team consists of; beauty expert Lillie, hair expert Katrina and body trimming expert Marinela. The 3 blonde gurus, each within their field, established a joined venture early this Spring and Dollface has now turned into a blooming business with a fast growing and satisfied list of clients. I know for a fact that Katrina is an expert in hair, because I used to see her on a regular basis when I still lived in Copenhagen years back. Lillie I trust when it comes to everything from Brazilian waxes to my face (2 very important areas so to speak…). Marinela’s ‘LPG magic’ I have not tried yet. But inspecitng her body I probably should. 12 pack anyone…?

Today I booked the Ling Signature Facial and my beauty expert escorted me into a quiet and beautiful room where I disrobed and got on a comfy bed.

Me: ”I get these small, dry bumps on my jawline. They are white and really annoying and my skin looks so dull lately.”

Beauty expert: ”Have you been traveling a lot lately? Have you gotten less than 7 hours of sleep for a longer periods of time? Are you stressed? Is you period coming up?

Me: ”Check to all of the above”.

And with that we commence into the universe of a Ling Signature Facial.

Peeling, massages, extractions and masks later I tumble out of my room, feeling rejuvenated, yet still a bit sleepy. 1,5 hour in a total state of bliss. The peeling tingles a bit in the beginning and extractions are never fun. But I am here to get rid of old dull skin, pimples and dark spots and I know for a fact that ‘No pain, no gain’. Besides, the glorious disco nap I get while relaxing with serums and masks on my face followed by a lovely massage first with warm and then with cold jade stones made me feel ready to take on the rest of the day. No problem!

I can truly recommend this treatment. I am in Copenhagen to film 2 movies and to shoot various modeling gigs and I enjoy that my skin looks good so I don’t have to sit in the makeup chair too long because the poor makeup artist works her butt off to cover blemishes, dark spots or circles under my eyes. A good facial helps me a long way. Also, just being able to not wear makeup on a daily basis and still feel comfortable in my skin. It’s so worth it even tough it is a tad on the pricy side.
