What happens during CPH Fashion Week stays in CPH Fashion Week – And on KK’s Blog (Part II)

I’m often asked, ”so, how is a day in your life?”. My answer usually varies, since that is exactly how my life is; Majorly unpredictable. An example in a nutshell is the following:

Thursday. Day 2 of Copenhagen Fashion Week. I get up around 5:30 am, in a state of jetlag and über excitement of what the day will bring. Sometimes it scares me how bored I get with sleeping. There is so much I want to do when I’m awake. A bit nuts and probably not healthy in the long run. I know that, but after 4-5 hours in dreamland I am wide awake and amped.

I get up, have some English Breakfast tea, that I bought in Harrods while I was in London, I have 2 egg whites, I check the most important emails, give my sister, who is spending the night in our family home a hug when she gets up, and then I head to the gym.

Après gym, I race home and meet Danish couture Fashion designer Elsa Adams, who is stopping by with a selection of her gowns and pieces for me to try on for fashion week. We drink tea, chat and I try on one gorgeous gown after the other. I feel so lucky that she wants to dress me. I love her style and the handwork put into every detail and beadwork is so unique, glamorous yet elegantly understated.

I pick 3 dresses for the next 3 days, give Elsa a hug and I find out, that  I have no time for make up before my next event. 12:30 pm I am meeting friends at the famous restaurant NOMA, which is impossible to get a reservation at and, which is awarded best restaurant in the World 3 years in a row. My dear friend Tikka, who was my host in London asked if we could try to get a table at NOMA a few days ago and luckily I have friends in Copenhagen that can make miracles happen.

It is noon now, and I can’t find the keys to my bicycle. Yes, I love my old bike and I always make it my biz to ride it when I’m in Cph. I’m running around like a headless chicken until I find the keys and make a serious run for it.

I make it to NOMA 12:35 pm sweating like a pig and wet from the Summer rain. Kinda annoying, but honestly, water and sweat does not take anything from the unique experience I am about to have for the next 2 hours.  I am not lying when I say I think I managed to go through almost 17 so unique and ‘never-tried-before’ courses before I had to race back on my bicycle to work. And, yes! it was pouring down again.

I made it back 3 pm on the dot where I was meeting the makeup artist Gabriella Tipsa Bruhn, who work aside, has become a dear friend of mine.  Today she is doing my makeup and hair before we shoot the TV show for Media Vision Hollywood, an LA based TV channel, which is going to launch soon. They have asked me to host a show about Copenhagen Fashion Week and of course I said yes. I would love to give my fellow vikings some PR in my new home country America.

My producer and DP arrive and even though we are on time, there is excitement and stress in the air. We only have one evening to get everything on tape, which is always a challenge. No dress rehearsals so live it up! I’m a ‘one-take kinda gal’, but when you work on a very tight schedule with no room for fuck-ups you gotta stay on point every moment.

My driver and bodyguard arrive to pick us up and take us to the first location. I use www.SAFEcph.com for tonight, since I feel they are a safe, classy and reliable choice. Luckily, I was not let down. Peter and his team from www.SAFEcph.com are on point and they made our evening so much easier. I can highly recommend them for any VIP service or occasion where you need a driver and or security.

The rest of the evening is a flux of fashion shows, events, dinners and a lot of coordination and transportation from location to location. Around midnight we wrap and I send my DP home with the driver and all the equipment. I am in dire need of a drink and some down time, which is not in front of the camera. So my producer and I meet up with my sister and her friends at a low key and super fun bar called ‘Fortunen’ in the center of Copenhagen where we let loose for a few hours until my sister and I took her bike home. Me on the back of the bike in my couture gown loving the mild Summer night and the fact of how unpredictable and amazing life is…

Tmro I’ll be back with news about Friday where I tested new hairdos for a shoot I have coming up plus another rundown of Friday’s best parties and events during fahsion week. Have a beautiful Sunday and hopefully see you soon again :-). XOXO KK

My beautiful friend Tine in front of NOMA. I gotta say, I felt a bit like a hipster shooting food pictures. Hence, when it’s NOMA food I thought it would be fun to remember the ‘cuisine couture’. And no worries! I didn’t instagram the food pics 😉
