Road Trip Baby!

My boyfriend Thomas arrived from Nicaragua Friday and as usual we have so much catching up to do. Our lives couldn’t be more different I think. He is an engineer and I am doing my thing. Excel and artist meet and go ‘hmmm’!

It is always interesting to hear what the other one has been up to lately. I love to hear about his world and about the jungle. It is still  exotic to me even though I have visited many times. I even understand a lot of Spanish now after my trips.

Anywho, on Saturday night we went to my friend Ariel’s birthday party in Santa Monica and it was a true abundance of Italian food for days. Wow! The crowd was from all over the World as well and dinner was served at 10 pm, which is super late in LA, but common in Europe. Especially in southern Europe and I love it with a vengeance!

After 8 pm and a few drinks I had an epiphany; ”Let’s do a road trip! Let’s go to Carmel and then take it from there..!!!?” I have no booked jobs this week and can work from my labtop. And so it went. Sunday morning, or rather Sunday just after sleeping last night out we hit the ‘Golden Freeway No 5’ direction ‘Carmel’.

The main thing I love about Carmel is that it brings the ‘fairy tale’ out in you. The houses, the hotels, the nature… Everything is so pretty, well kept, quirky and different compared to the rest of California. It’s like an ‘envelope’ in time standing still where nothing ‘bad’ happens. A huge resemblance to Disney Land. (Oh and PS – we feel like the youngest people in town haha! (But still absolutely loving the gorgeous nature  #justsaying ;-)…)
