San Francisco Love

It happened again! In the spur of the moment we decided to check out within the hour. Almost. This time to pay a visit to San Francisco. We were supposed to go back to LA after 2 nights in Carmel, but being only 2 hours away from San Francisco; how can one resist to visit the Bay Area…?

I have had a crush on SF since I shot the movie Sedona’s Rule here in SF and I will always be a huge agitator for the city. I love the arts, the different neighborhoods, the restaurants, the architecture and being able to walk around amongst other people in the streets. It’s so different to my home in LA, which has it’s perks as well of course. But I love being able to switch things up for a minute.

And after wealthy, beautiful, very quiet and ‘correct’ Carmel I just adore San Francisco for all it’s arbitraries. Straight, bi, homo, nudists and an abundance of people with an opinion are based right out of San Francisco. It is not only nice; It is a relief to come to a city where people actually read the paper and are curious about life outside their own back yard.

We booked a super hotel right smack downtown and fell so much in love with the area that we decided to stay one more night.

Last night we met up with my gorgeous actress friend Hanna whom I know from my time at William Esper Studio in NYC. We both did the 2 year full time program and she is a girl I will always have in my life.

Last night we had dinner at restaurant Foreign Cinema, which I always love (last time I was there Jean Paul Gaultier was there with his entourage. One of the muses being Dita von Teese. I bumped into her in the powder room.). Foreign Cinema is a cute and very charming place where a projector shows foreign movies on the wall in the outside garden. #TrèsChic. The food and wine is excellent too.

Après diner we went to the quirkiest little bar/club called ‘Amnesia’. Nothing like Ibiza, but a live music place where talent from all over the world do their thing.

Today I slept in, went to the gym for a bit (first time in a long time oops!). After we tried to see the Cindy Sherman show at MOMA, but it is closed on Wednesdays (damnit!!!). I love CS. I have always been amazed and both drawn and repulsed by her work since a decade at least. Later we went shopping in Ralph Lauren Rugby, had tons of Oysters with French rosé wine and did tourist things.

Tmro we are off to LA again and as much as I adore this city I’m looking forward to it. I H.E.A.R.T. Los Angeles and it will be great to be home again before new adventures commence.
