Acupuncture 101
Have you ever considered acupuncture? As in having needles stung deep into your skin in weird places on your body, feet and face…?
Well, I wanted to do a post about this subject for a while since I have experienced pretty insane and eye opening things happen after I let myself get treated by an acupuncturist here in LA. But I didn’t really know how to approach the subject since treatments are personal and moreover, I wanted to make sure I felt that this type of treatment actually works. And hands down, it does.
The reason I have been going is because of my annoying ankle. I had an accident long time ago, which I ignored and now I pay the price. Meaning, I cannot run or dance any longer. I even have to be careful about too high heels. I know; #disaster.
So as I am being treated twice a week for a weak ankle that is slowly healing, I showed up the other day with symptoms of a sinus infection and my acupuncturist Dr. Li told me that he would take care of that. I was like: ”Right! The last couple of times I had a sinus infection I had to go on 3 different antibiotics to be able to breath again so I don’t think you can help me”. But…. Little do I know; Dr. Li tells me to relax and close my eyes and before I know it have 4 needles carefully stung into my face dangerously close to my eyes.
Within 10 minutes with the scary needles pinched into my face I feel my sinuses start to drain. Slowly I can breath without problems and the pressure and pain is going away.
I am happy about what he does to my ankle and it is slowly getting stronger. No doubt. But the experience with the sinus is just incredible. No more antibiotics. Ever. Yay!
Ok, enough from me now. If you want input or contact of Dr. Li please don’t hesitate to contact me.
On a completely other note; Here are 2 new photos I got from a shoot I did in August in Copenhagen. Photographer is Mary Badalian / MUA: Gabriella Tipsa. I hope you like them :-)…
