Princess Treatment for the Hair
Let’s be frank. This trip to the neck of my woods, Denmark, has been all work and almost no play. I’m not complaining. On the contrary. I LOVE my job! But packed months, very little sleep, especially last night and 2 hours of hardcore and intensive training @ Energii workout @ 8:30 am this morning I was ready to throw the towel into the ring. Or almost…
But I’m not a quitter, I’m a viking ;-). So instead of caving in, I got on my bike and rode 45 minutes north to a little oasis of divine hair treatment and luxury called MOKE HAIR. Back in early September I did a job with them and this past Tuesday we did an amazing editorial shoot together in a castle. 17 hours of shooting. That’s how we roll. However, that shoot is still confidential due to the respect of the client/magazine. We will get to that another time. Today was 100 % pure spa, relaxation and princess treatment.
My hair is very long and huge. Or at least it was until too much styling, prepping, teasing and unfortunately a bad, bad coloring took the best of it. On that account I lost almost half of my hair (!). It’s still big and wild, but not like it was 1,5 months ago. It sucks, but I’m not one to get sentimental over things I cannot undo or change. So moving on: what’s the best thing I CAN do? Answer: Cut down on jobs that involve major hairstyling. Get organic, healthy, nurturing products for my hair. And to top the list off: Get the royal, professional treatment to bring back instant life to very, very dehydrated and suffering hair.
I was in the chair for hours @ MOKE HAIR where one of the owners Morten Melhede was in awe over how much product my hair ‘drank’. Literally drank. Like a big, thirsty sponge. I love visiting the MOKE team and after testing the whole line of J Beverly Hills, which is their new line of absolute luxury hair products I feel soft, sleek, beautiful and girlie again. Can I please purr at this point….? #meow :-D.
Anyways, I studied the product line a bit online since I want to make sure it’s good for me. After one too many ‘damage control’ moments when it comes to my hair, I need to be cautious. J Beverly Hills is told to be ‘Organic wearing high heels’, which is pretty much up my alley. Anyone who knows me would second that. Organic and high heels. What’s not to love?
The products are on the expensive side. Bummer. I know. But at this point I have no choice. Trust me. I’ve tested the trail and error method and came to the conclusion: If I want ‘Rolls Royce’ looking hair, I need the RR products to go with it. Period. So here I am, happy and tired with an arsenal of products in front of me from my ‘almost-home’ Beverly Hills (I live in West Hollywood).
I’m on my second pitcher of tea with milk, my 3rd huge jug of my mother’s homemade, organic apple and beet juice from our Summer house garden and a glass of pinot grigio with ice for good measure. All that health scares me ;-).
Tmro morning I’m picked up @ 8 am by our director of photography before we head to exotic locations to get more footage for our documentary about Artificial Life. It’s suuuuper exciting. Last week was all about the 3D printer. This week is very much about sailing and Hamlet’s Hometown…. Stay tuned.
Nite, nite <3 KK
Awaiting my princess treatment appointment in a comfy chair @ MOKE HAIR. My ‘Mowgli style’ hair-do is hidden inside a cocoon of a beanie. A beanie, that was given to me by the beautiful and dear wife of a Danish Film director I worked with a year ago. She told me: ‘You are the only one with big enough hair to fit this creation.’ She made it herself and I love it <3
Morten Melhede, one of the 2 co founders and owners of the salon worked my hair and scalp until I was in heaven…. I need to book more of these kind of Spa sessions. Wow, it feels good!
Ladies & Gentlemen, my new ‘support regiment’ that hopefully will have my locks looking healthier, strong and long soon…
