Old Downtown Las Vegas Shooting
Today we filmed part of the casino robbery scene of the movie in the old part of Downtown Vegas. A shoot that turned out to be quite an unexpected visual treat. Driving down the old streets of Vegas is like stepping back in time. Absolutely none of the high rollers, business folks nor the jet-set crowd, who frequent Vegas whenever DJ Kaskade or DJ Morillo are in town would ever set foot here. Old, burned out casinos worn out motels that have seen better days and tons of auto body shops with ‘Tight is Right’ logos on big neon signs make the backdrop for a scene of inked and scruffy looking inhabitants.
As usual we were up super early to catch the morning light and to avoid the worst heat and honestly, heat aside, I felt totally at home here in old Vegas being my character ‘Claudia’ wearing my brown, skimpy vintage dress from the 70’s, a vintage off-white leather jacket with fringes, a baby pink ‘Las Vegas’ cap, lip-gloss and shades. After lunch I had an hour to hit the gym and then we were off shooting again.
So what did I shoot today? Aside from the fact that this was my first day of smoking like a chimney on camera I also had my debut of doing a lot of crazy driving. Not stunt driving. But very close. Wow! I love speed and today I got my dose. 😉
See you soon again people! Can’t wait to tell you more about what goes on here in Vegas and on the film set etc. Sweet dreams! xx KK
Just arrived on location. Downtown old Las Vegas….
If you weigh over 350 pounds you eat for free at this infamous burger joint ‘Heart Attack Grill’. I kid you not.
