Independence Day, New Company, Socializing & Fashion

Today is July 4th and a lot of people call it ‘The Birthday of America’. The Declaration of Independence, drafted by Thomas Jefferson in 1776 on today’s date marks the independence from the UK and Americans get to take the day off and celebrate. There are tons of parties, BBQ’s and fireworks going on today and lots of people escape on small getaways since they turn this day into a long weekend.

I’m not really feeling the whole crazy, party thing so I’m taking a slow day today working out, resting and working a bit too. Usually, when there is a holiday people go nuts when they go out and drink, which is why I like to stay in and then head out on more normal days. Also, I don’t want to find myself caught up in a political discussion about the revolutionary war etc. when drinks are in the system.

On a completely different note, I’m happy to say that we are spending this coming weekend getting our new office in order and come Monday next week our first intern starts working for us. For a brief moment I had a flash back to when, I at a super young age, opened SPALT PR in Copenhagen. That was back in august 2001. And as I was about to become partner of SPALT PR some years later, I decided to take a different route. My inner voice told me so. And I followed her on what became a crazy, but absolutely fantastic ride. I put all my chips in on this ride. I only went with a ‘plan A’.  And here we are today, July 4th 2013, in Los Angeles, and I’m about to open the doors to a new biz endeavor and this time with a partner.

Some fashion: It feels sort of awkward to be showing my new tote with a British flag on the actual Independence Day of America. But since the UK and the US are ‘buddies’ I hope I don’t offend anyone. The tote is from the cool brand  Thursday Friday.

Socializing: There’s a few pics from a bday party I went to last week in the notorious ‘Martini Bikini Mansion’ AKA the home of the great host Michael Scott. I went with my friend Ricardo Garcia, the owner of Red Hot Society PR  . A lot of familiar faces and new ones too. It was a fun evening.

Headed out to a meeting and sporting my new tote by Thursday Friday. It’s big enough to hold all my s##t and I can throw it in the washer when it gets dirty.
