Hotter Than July

Today was probably one of the hottest days so far in LA this year. Above a 100 degrees F and not a single cloud in the sky. Absolutely gorgeous, but also pretty damn boiling if you are working under the rays from early morning until sunset.

Today I shot with a cool Danish interior design team who wanted to shoot their image campaign here in West Hollywood and on El Matador Beach north of Malibu. They are called ‘The Mat’. They brought the Danish photographer Signe Morkeberg Sjostrom, who is excellent with light. MUA is Phoebe Dawson. A New Zealand native, whom I have worked with a few times before here in LA.

All in all; It was a super day and I had a great time. I love shoots where things just develop organically and everybody is on the same page. And get this: After the shoot the company gave me some products for my home and a sleeve for my MAC to test – yay! I adore Danish Design! And these products are all organic, water resistant and sustainable leather. Love it and they go with my Danish designer lamps from Poul Henningsen.

As the sun was setting over Malibu we wrapped the shoot and headed home towards Hollywood. Stuck in traffic for hours we all felt our skin stinging a bit. Sun tanned much? I think so. Ugh! And I even wore SPF 50 allover my body and SPF 100 in my face.

Home, after a shower, covered from head to toe in cooling Aloe Vera from Ole Henriksen and devouring all the left overs in my fridge I realize how tired and happy I am. So on a full belly I bid you goodnight and wish you a lovely evening whereever you are.
