Honest or Childish?

It is always a little sad when a friend leaves LA to go back to Europe. When they pack their overweight merchandise and whole lives into the super-size-me suitcases with little wheels on them and head out to LAX it hits me like a truck. It feels like one of my devoted warriors is abandoning the fort and leaving me and my team behind, standing one woman less in this battle called life.

A goodbye always make me contemplate if I’m on the right team. If I’m fighting the right battle or if it’s all just an act to keep myself busy so I don’t see what everybody else is seeing. That maybe life is what you make of it. That maybe life doesn’t have to be a battle. That you can be content and happy with what is right in front of you.

I often hear that love, happiness and peace is a question of choosing it. I think that’s bullshit. Pardon my French, but what happens when you feel in love with someone or you love your job or a designer dress, but after a couple of seasons you don’t anymore. Do you then choose to keep loving both and wearing the hideous dress or is it allowed to change your mind and slip into a pair of jeans? Is that a childish thought or is it just what I call being honest?

In this thing (battle/journey) we call life, do we get caught up in too many codex about what to say, do, think and feel that we forget the most important thing: to follow our hearts…?

Did you ever read “The Invitation”?

In the opening there’s a long poem, there’s a part in it, which I thought of reading your post…

“It doesn’t interest me if the story you’re telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself. If you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your soul.”

I hope you find the answers that sit right within your heart, and in my opinion; yes of course you can change your mind…. It’s called growing up, maturing, taking responsibility for where you are in life at this given moment. If not, how do you expect being true to others, if you are not to yourself?

    Love you much baby girl
