Filming the new TV Series The Team and Miss Red
Perhaps this is the first time you’ve stumbled over my blog. If that’s the case, welcome and thank you for reading it so far. In case you have followed me during the past months you’ll know that I’ve been back and forth between my home in LA, Denmark and Antwerp. I’m working on different film and TV projects at the moment. A lifestyle and job that I love and cannot get enough of even though it sometimes (very often) means sleepless nights, negotiations and discussions with loved ones and long, lonely paths to destinations that are unknown most of the time.
Midst one type of seriousness and philosophy I would like to bring out another ‘very’ serious topic as well .. 😉 : ‘Miss Red’. I know it’s absolutely uncool to touch upon this subject matter, which is probably why I’m doing it. But since most girls around me are obsessing about Miss Red these days, I thought it appropriate that I chip in. So boys! If you think I’m lame, shut your ears and eyes and I’ll see you around!
Here we go: ‘Miss Red’ aka ‘the monthly’ or ‘shark week’ as I’ve heard a guy label it before (and rightfully so), is usually a love hate situation for all females. We hate it when she comes around, but we have panic attacks if she stays MIA. I’ve heard that some tribal women like to leave their tribe/group when Miss Red comes to town. Instead of hanging around others, the woman wanders into the wilderness all by her lonesome self a few days until the storm rides off. I’m feeling this, and would do it if I could. Alas, I would probably get arrested in West Hollywood if I tried.
Don’t get me wrong; I love everything about being a woman. Truly. However, Miss Red makes it difficult sometimes to deal. Water weight, Extreme bloating, camps, fevers and self loath. And usually she pays her visit at the most inconvenient times. Times when you would like to feel and look your best she’ll come knocking. Honestly, sometimes it feels like a conspiracy.
For instance this week I’m shooting the new international TV Series ‘The Team’ and obviously Miss Red decides to make an appearance on that exact day. 9 days late and totally unfair she demands her 15 minutes of fame on this specific day and makes me feel self conscious, which is the worse when working on any production. At least in my book. And trust me, there is no freaking’ way I can leave set and wander into nature or anywhere else. No! I am on set, on time and luckily feeling the support in makeup and wardrobe where most of the ladies understand my situation and give me mental support before I jump into my tiny, tiny gold outfit and start the day. Thank you girls! 😉
I cannot disclose anything about the series yet, so here are some pics from the media and a few from the first day of shooting in Copenhagen… xx KK
