Brain Food
Just below the state of Montana lies Wyoming. And if you think you have visited vast country side and seen beautiful amazingly big landscape in your life, then wait until you visit Wyoming. It is definitely for a reason they call it ‘Big Sky Country’. Rarely have I felt this small in the middle of absolutely nowhere.
After a road trip from LA, to Las Vegas through Utah we arrived to Jackson Hole in Wyoming Thursday night and checked into the lodge where we are spending the 4th of July Holiday Weekend participating in The famous Renaissance Weekend. Everybody here is contributing in some way. Either they are on a panel or presenting expertise from their personal field or they are attending seminars asking questions and contributing to discussions. So far it has been extremely interesting to listen to many of the seminars. There are probably 350 people here by invite only from all type of fields. Politics, Fashion, Film, New media, Science, Medicine, Sustainability, Human and Animal Rights to top chefs and celebrities. Cool thing is everybody here is super excited to contribute with the best knowledge they have and to network and share opinions and learn from other fields.
This morning we heard ideas about what the future holds from some of the most respected scientists in the World. Pretty substantial breakfast to swallow alongside your latte.
Last night I did a seminar with the documentary filmmaker, lawyer and Olympic rower Mary Mazzio on film making and our experience in the field. I won’t lie, it was pretty nerve wrecking at first, but since the environment here is so ‘neighborly’ so to speak I quickly forgot about my stage fright and threw myself into discussions, stories and Q and As with the spectators.
This morning at 8 am I was on a panel with 6 super competent blogger and new media experts discussing blogging and pod cast.
For lunch I am doing a table read over Skype with the cast of what could be my next movie. They are all in Connecticut, so I will try my best to read my part right here from Wyoming.
Later I hope to get some sun and perhaps going horseback riding in the meadows in front of the lodge. Nature here is beyond fantastic and did I mention we saw a huge Grizzly bear with 2 cubs the first day?
As much as I love my life in Hollywood the time spent here is pure nutrient for the brain and the soul.

Hi Kristina! Just read this post–I am so impressed with all that you are doing! My boyfriend’s parents and some family live in Jackson Hole–it is SO beautiful. I am jealous you get to be there attending such awesome seminars–doing great things for the world and enjoying such beauty of the place at the same time. I have always had an interest in modeling, but worried that I would become one of those models who ONLY modeled–that stereotype. I always said that if I were to model, I would do other work/charity work on the side to help improve our world. Well, I am still working towards those dreams- but you are there. Congratulations on not being a stereo type and on being so awesome! Very inspiring and admirable. Enjoy the holiday!
