Today is July 4th and a lot of people call it ‘The Birthday of America’. The Declaration of Independence, drafted by Thomas Jefferson in 1776 on today’s date marks the independence from the UK and Americans get to take the day off and celebrate. There are tons of parties, BBQ’s and fireworks going on today and lots of people escape on small getaways since they turn this day into a long weekend. Can’t believe how fast this week went. It seems the older we get, the faster life accelerates. After my lovely San Francisco escape it was back to the LA grind where temperatures have risen to almost unbearable heights these past few days. In SFO airport and just learned my flight to LA is 2 hours delayed. Can’t believe I rushed out here, when I could have perused the streets of beautiful San Francisco, done some vintage shopping in Mission, had more coffee and biscottis @ Blue Bottle and perhaps a glass of wine at the cute Absinthe restaurant in Hayes Valley and explored new hoods in company of good old, friends from throwback days. A little sun solstice hello from the Bay Area, more specifically San Francisco where I’m spending the weekend. It’s work, but as usual I make it be about pleasure a bit too. ‘Korsholm Style’ …. 😉 I arrived yesterday evening and we went straight to dinner from the airport. Weekend is here and for us here in LA that means the kick-off of LA Film Festival, which I’m excited to attend for the first time ever. The past 5 years I was traveling when the festivities were going on. But since I took the wow in February not to travel unless I’m über well paid or it is for family reasons I’m here and happy to be so.
