What’s new in KK town..?

Not really sure where or what to start with… Fact is, it’s been months since I’ve visited the blog and for some reason tonight felt like the right time to come back for a moment to sit down, ponder and exhale.

May flew by with tons of radical changes for me. Then June attacked full force as well and made sure I didn’t have a minute to rest, but kept my management skills in check.

Firstly, I made the move from West Hollywood to Larchmont Village in Hancock Park, Los Angeles. Probably the best decision in years on my part. A few days later I flew to Denmark and began filming. Then it was time for some Ibiza craziness followed by a red eye, no sleep and more filming in the Danish islands chased by a super spontaneous trip to London where Black Sabbath, Soundgarden and Faith no More made the 4th of July even more pleasant and unforgettable than I ever recall it. Rockstar nights were then followed by another red eye back to the Danish Islands to film and then – finally – a few days to collapse and just ‘be’.

Lately I’ve felt pushed and pulled from all sides and practically and crudely ‘devoured’ by people in the city of Angels who all want something. Fame, money, credit, sex, attention, love or perhaps something they don’t even know themselves. Los Angeles is nuts like that. It’s the most amazing city in the world because it offers the most freedom and possibilities of all places I’ve ever lived or visited. But in opposition to ‘The Wild West’ slash ‘American Dream’ philosophy there is a downside: I experience no old, great culture, no ancient structure nor a wholesome soul in the city. And I think, partially because of this, you will come across hordes of searching dreamers and opportunists trying to get ahead and trade up with whatever they have. As the saying goes: If you live by the sword, you have to be prepared to die by the sword. I have seen some crazy things in this city and the past 4 months took the cake. Even Fellini could not have written a screenplay better than this …. Enough said, I needed a break from it all. I needed to step back, heal, breath low and find some grounding again.

And grounding I found. My father’s birthday was on July 7th and we celebrated 2 days in a row sailing his 2 sea kayaks between the beautiful islands, spotting rare birds, seals and dolphins. This time of year we have bright nights here in Denmark and the night sky is delicate pink and so beautiful it makes me reconsider why I ever moved. (Not really… 😉 ..)

Midst all the traveling back and forth, up and down and all around my Iphone was stolen. We were @ LIO in old Ibiza town one infamous night and it was snatched from my purse. So I’ve been on a cold turkey phone detox for almost 3 weeks now and counting. It’s weird because I thought I would go mad without my phone. But it’s actually kinda nice to fly under the radar for a minute… 😉

OK, time for bed. I will try to revisit soon again with more news from my journey. ‘Till then, stay safe and have as much fun as possible…

xx KK 🙂
