Viking Queen

I have a little confession to make. Once in a while when life gets overwhelming I do something. It’s something I’ve started doing recently and it has evolved and become a ritual for me. Sort of.

I’m talking about the days when you face way too many rejections and mountain high hurdles in one day and life almost forces you to either pee in your pants or jump off a random rooftop. Or both. However, those options are not appealing to me. What a pathetic sight not to mention waste of tuition money.  And even though I swear by the stabilizing practice of hot yoga, I realize that I need something more ‘primal’ and uncontrolled. I need a yang to my yin.

So I have caught myself in hitting my chest with my palms numerous times while screaming ‘I am the Queen of Vikings’ loudly. Repeatedly. For some reason it brings a strength out in me and I suddenly feel like a Viking Queen. like someone who can overcome anything. Yes, I am Danish and a viking, but I am not a queen. It just feels amazing on down days to pretend to be one. It actually takes away the ‘peeing in my pants jumping off a rooftop’ urge.

So the glorious fortune has it, that I get booked as exactly that ‘A Viking Queen’ for today. We were filming a spot that I cannot disclose anything about yet, but I will as soon as they let me ;-).

I am sure many of you are watching Game of Thrones and I gotta say that the ‘Mother of Dragons’ also brought a tad of inspiration into my character work on today’s shoot. I think she is soooo bad-ass and I wish there were more strong, bad-ass female characters like her out there. I’d die to play one of them. Or even better encourage more on a daily basis 😉

The dream team director Ryan Bosworth and his beautiful wife Jen Bosworth, who is a famous book author and who styled this shoot (multi talented). This couple is on the up and up. The ideas and projects they execute together are breathtaking. Yes, you heard it here first ;-). Actor/model/soccer player Andy Dermot and I plus the gorgeous MUA and fine art painter Claudia Humburg.

Rehearsal without snow nor wind machines and my sword is fake in these last pics. In all the real takes I was fighting with a real bad-ass sword so incredible heavy you won’t believe it. (Thank you hot yoga for my ability to fight like a viking ;-).. )
