Vacation Day!

The last 48 hours have been a little piece of heaven. My friend Aura is in town to finish her new album and midst all our work stress, out of the blue we decided to take one day of vacation. So, Friday night   her sweet driver picked me up and off we went to Teddy’s for drink and catch up. We never made it inside to watch the band perform because we had too much to discuss. Aura is one of most inspiring girls I know. And just like me she is chasing her dream and in love with the world.

After drinks we were Santa Monica bound to her Hotel Shutters on The Beach. One of my favorite refugee spots here in LA. A little pit stop at In’n’Out burger was mandatory before we crashed her suite, popped open a bottle of Chablis and made ourselves the most amazing bubble bath with rose petals, bath salt and foam all over. Happy Holidays girls!

Well over 3 AM we were in bed, Aura with her guitar playing me some goodnight tunes. Heaven much?

Next morning the sky was bluer than the Mediterranean Ocean and we jumped in our jogging outfits like little happy bunnies ready to give David Hasselhof a run for his money running down the beach in slow motion.

Brunch, two skinny lattes and and a change of clothes away we found our selves at the pool overlooking The Pacific Ocean with bigger smiles than the Joker in Batman.  And to top it off the staff was preparing for a beautiful wedding. I know; post card!

Stress gurus say that you are supposed to take at least 10 days (or is it 14..?) to decompress before you can relax completely. They might be right, but this one day of vacation was like balm to my soul and I’m still all smiles about it…
