Sunrise
They say that ‘Today is the first day of the rest of your life’. That: ‘Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift. That’s why it’s called the present’
All beautiful sayings. However, hands down; I cannot say that every day feels like a present to me. Some days should be flushed out in the toilet, banned out of my ICal and forgotten about instantly. You know, the days where you wake up bloated, looking like shit, feeling like shit and nothing works your way no matter how much you try. The days where you simply try too hard and make a fool out of yourself. Or the days where you just cry 20 out of 24 hours. Those days suck balls. I have had some of those recently. Last time was when I listened to ‘Stop this Train’ by John Mayer. Songwriter and Playboy Numero Uno had me ‘at hello’ with his lyrics and KK’s water works made an Academy Awards Sally Fields worthy performance right there and then.
But I have also had some days that are true presents. Beautiful little gems that enlighten my life, that make me smile and get excited about almost everything. Like this morning. I woke up a little to 8 am. I know. Crazy when you don’t have to. I tumbled out of bed and looked out into a deep blue sky where vague orange streaks from this April morning’s sunrise were still visible. So beautiful and a true gift. It’s no lie: Sunrise is my favorite time of day. It’s so fresh, crisp and untouched. Sunrise, just like the month of May, both channel something new, growing, alluring, blooming and fresh about to happen. Spring at it’s best.
So after a warm and beautiful April Spring day in LA I’m about to call it a night. I have to get up very early tomorrow – almost sunrise time – for my shoot. I’m booked for a lingerie shoot for 3 different French designers that will give Kiki Montparnasse and La Perla a run for their money. I haven’t seen such beautiful lace in a really long time. Adorable and sexy! After the French shoot I’m walking a couture show for a designer, so we are talking a 6 am to Midnight situation tomorrow. A true gift. No doubt. Haha! And truly not sorry about the fact that I can sleep in Thursday… 😉
Ok, I’m logging off. Enjoy your present where ever you are and speak soon. I will make sure to take photos of the events tomorrow as we go along.
xoxo KK
