Shooting Will
The last couple of days I have been shooting a music video for the super talented recording artist Pete Pidgeon and his song ‘Will’. We shot in a variety of different locations in and around NYC, but mostly in Brooklyn. And being an old ‘Brooklynite’ it was such a beautiful walk down memory lane to be back in the different old neighborhoods. And it’s amazing how different Manhattanites and ‘Brooklynites’ are. The pace and attitude are worlds apart.
We shot in old theaters, in cozy cafes, in limos, in high ceiling bedrooms with exposed brick walls and then we shot a lot of footage outside on the Brooklyn Bridge and on the cobble stones in DUMBO. Oh how I love NYC!!! It’s so noisy and so beautiful. Like an untamable wild animal.
However, shooting all day from 7 AM outside in thigh highs and a tiny night slip when it’s snowing can be a challenge. Especially when you add wind and the fact that you have to look pretty and smile. Luckily my character was worn out in many scenes. A look that wasn’t too far form reality on day 2 after only 3 hours of sleep. But the high you get form working high paced and with a great and super devoted team makes me forget that I’m cold. And seriously, I can only focus on getting the best shot possible. I hate doing things half-assed. I don’t believe in that. If you say yes, you gotta commit 100%.
Anyways, today is my last day in NYC before I jet off to Copenhagen. I have a shoot a little later in the day with a French Photographer, but before I go there I’m going to Willoughby’s on 5th avenue to pick up my new Canon G12 camera. Yay!!!
Here are some shots from the last 2 days of shooting with Pete and his crew. Most of the pictures are taken with my iphone…
Time for a little power nap while the others shot in the back room. Why not use a flag as a blanket…?

Funnily enough the male actor in the video was also Danish. His name is Lasse and he works as a model in NYC. Very cool to have somebody to speak Danish with on set. While my character was going through some rough patches in the story line of the music video, Lasse’s character was pretty much ‘blue steeling’ it all the way through, as you can tell from the picture above 😉

Um, so totally awesome. You were a wonder to work with and blessed with so many talents. Thank you so much for being a major part of this shoot …and especially for wearing a skirt on 14-degree windchill night in the park with 20mph gusts just before a blizzard hit. No joke. You rule. Let’s do it again soon! Blessings!!
