On My Personal Top 3

Waking up 6:30 am on a Saturday seems to be the way I roll these days. However, last Saturday it was even earlier and I was filming all day and I was still in LA. Today, my location is Nicaragua. Deep, deep, exotic jungle that is and pretty far away from anything that remotely reminds you of civilization. Today I began my day with 1,5 hour of yoga by the Pacific Ocean.

Super blissful and beyond comparison to work up a sweat on your mat while the perfect waves are crashing on white sand and the sun is rising and painting the virgin blue sky yellow, pink and orange with it’s warm rays.

The boutique resort I’m visiting is called ‘Mark and Dave’s’. It’s owned by two surfers (Mark and Dave), who are between Newport Beach and this amazing place with an incomparable beachfront view, restaurant, the cutest rooms and infinity pool located in a bay only populated by a bunch of pro (and hot) surfers, who are here for the waves. (They are supposed to be the best right here on the entire coastline… the waves that is ;-)…).

This area swiftly made it’s way onto my top 3 of places I have visited in the world. And I have frequented quite a few over the years. The vibe here is so laid back, yet you can have the best of food, drinks, deluxe beach club atmosphere and between the margaritas and white wine you can get your ‘health trip’ on if you wish. Aside from surf, horseback riding and jungle trekking a brand new yoga shala is in the makes. Kim, who was my yoga teacher this morning, and who runs the resort with her husband is a yogi and a surfer and she tells me that she will host actual yoga retreats come Fall 2012. I already signed up 😉
