NYC I LOVE YOU!
Sorry for the lack of attention to the blog lately, but I have been too exhausted to type anything since last Thursday. I’m writing you from NYC now – yay! :-). As you can imagine I am absolutely stoked to be back.
However, as usual getting ready before a trip out of town is a hassle. Especially this close to the Holidays. Last minute meetings and work that needs to be done always leaves me packing in the middle of the night. Needless to say my packing is as random as it gets.
Stepping out of the flight in JFK after way too little sleep and in general a bad habit of insomnia, which I am struggling with lately, it still feels damn good to be alive and I can’t wait to reunite with my girls who are in town.
I am staying with my girl Anni and her boyfriend Alberto downtown just where Tribeca turns into Battery Park. A hood I never really explored before and their apartment and building is awesome. A full gym, cinema, yoga, steam, sauna, roof top. You name it. Apparently I walked right by Katie Holmes and her daughter Suri as I was leaving the gym and later I bumped into a very tall guy in the lobby. Anni says it’s a famous basket ball player named Chris, who was married for a minute to Kim Kardashian.
Celebrity sighting aside I have hung out with the girls and visited old and new hot spots that we love: Soho House, Lion, Ciprianis Downtown, Beatrice Inn (which is more adult now after the renovation. the food and service is exquisite!). On Sunday I went to my friend Joseph Douek’s (JD) Birthday Brunch at Jezebel on West Broadway. Champagne and kosher food in abundance. JD threw a huge party for my book last year. First in Beverly Hills, then in NYC so it was great to stop by and say hello and do ‘Sunday Funday’ with him and his crew.
Tonight we are going to see my girl Giada’s play and then celebrate her with an après dinner. More about that and more NYC later.
Now it’s time to go explore some more… xxxxxx KK
