Arrivederci NYC!
One week has almost passed and tmro I’m already headed back to LA. Wow, it went so fast!
I absolutely love being back in NYC and I have had the most interesting meetings and fun times this week. I’m so coming back again for another visit very soon. The energy and the atmosphere is much more positive this year than when I was here a year ago. Yes, I know part of the bad energy was my own emotional situation of having lost my grandmother and losing my grandfather shortly after, but still. More restaurants and more shops have opened today and there is even a sensation of a ‘unitedness’ and mildness in the city. As if the horrible hurricane Sandy has left the New Yorkers feeling more as a team than before.
On Tuesday me and the girls went to see Giada in an off broadway play called ‘Ghost Wife Radio’. She was stellar in the play and we all went out to celebrate her after at STK, which is close to the theater district.
The day after I had many meetings. One was with a theater director, whom I’ve worked with before and she offered me a part in a play she is putting up next year here in NYC. It sounds cool and I would like to do some theater in NYC in between movies, but lots need to be coordinated if I were to spend more time on the East Coast, so we will see what happens with this. The day after I had a meeting with my acting mentor Bill Esper and a huge hangover (not a good combo!). I studied at the William Esper Studio under Bill for 2 years straight and those were probably my best years so far. I was so excited to meet him again after 4,5 years in LA. Also, it was kind of cool to sign my book NYC Head Over High Heels for him. Last time I saw him was at his book signing in NYC, so now we are more equal (not! 😉 ).
I also met with tons of other exciting people and even did a little shoot in between so all in all this has been a great trip. Now it’s time to hit the gym and then hit the streets for my last day of exploration.
See you soon! xx KK

Congratulating Giada on her success with the play. In the top corner: Tine with her 3 month old Elliot at Soho House.
Dinner timer after theater. Tine, Anni, Giada and I. And Alberto, Anni’s boyfriend is also in the picture 😉
