Notes from the Sky Mile Limbo Land Club

It’ not even been 14 days and here I am yet again hanging somewhere in the air approaching the air space above Greenland. Truth be told, I didn’t even unpack because why bother when I knew I had yet another long journey coming up around the corner.

As I’m crossing time zone after time zone on my route flying east from my home in Los Angeles first stop London I am trapped with both sensations of joyful excitement and painful emptiness. It’s a somewhat skizofrenic state of mind where I jump from one to the other within moments depending on… well, yeah I don’t really know why. The happiness definitely stems from all the cool things I am about to do when I hit European ground running. ( I will tell you more about the amazing projects the further I get into the actual work.  hate jinxing things  :-)..). Not to mention that I get to surround myself with family and old friends. What a treat.

So what’s up with the emptiness? Well, that son of a gun roars his ugly head and wants to cuddle with me when I don’t feel grounded. I am flying high 24-7 on my daily duties, work and all the top creative people I get to work and mingle with so a certain level of grounding is necessary for me. Earlier I was not too aware of this, but I guess we all mature on some level down the road.

I have also come to a new, and to me, truly interesting conclusion; I’m ready to move in with somebody. After having loved living by myself for almost 4 years now in West Hollywood it’s time for a change and I am actively house searching with a friend in Los Angeles. Who knows what will become of it, but it’s the first time where I realize that I would like company other than my own.

Just a few observations from ‘Limbo Land’ slash ‘Insomnia Ville’ where we still have 4 hours of Trans Atlantic flying to go. I have one night in Copenhagen and then I’m off to Belgium for a few days of work before I return to Denmark and then LA.

Saying ‘yes’ to life sure isn’t boring. But obvi, it has it’s perks and it’s miserable times as well. Speaking of perks, fun stuff and creative people I had quite a few, fun nightly adventures while I was home in LA. Amongst others was a LAB ARTs party hosted by Minx Society and my friend and gallery owner, the lovely and hardworking Iskander Lemseffer. Today’s pictures are from that art event and from out and about in The City of Angels…
