No Sleep to Brooklyn

Sometimes it happens that I’m too stressed out about stuff and it ruins my sleep. I stress about the fact that I’m not seeing my friends enough, I miss my family and I feel we are growing apart because I’ve chosen to live in the other side of the Planet. I’m not as fast a runner as I used to be, my butt is not as firm as it used to be, the critical situation in Haiti and feeling helpless about it, my career, my relationships, my next movie….. Big sigh!!!
Then my friend Olena told me about her new spike mats that are supposed to help you sleep better. Yes Spike Mats….!!
Apparently the spike mats origin from old India where the fakirs use a bed of nails to sleep on. Olena told me that the spike mat is excellent in releasing emotional, mental and physical blockages and that the mat has helped her getting her beauty sleep.
So recently I got myself a spike mat to test it. It’s this weird little mat with hard plastic spikes on it that you are supposed to lie on back turned down. It doesn’t look fashionable or cool, and it pinches you again and again until you learn how to ‘tame it’. Tip: Remember to put a blanket on top. You don’t want to lie directly on the spikes (unless you have fakir skin).
I’ve used the mat for a week now. Aprox 20 minutes a day is enough.. I try to do it every day…. And it works for me. I feel way more relaxed and my sleep is much better.
🙂
