Happy Valentine’s Day!

I feel sort of ambivalent towards Valentine’s Day. On one hand I truly like the idea of celebrating love, being romantic and showing people your true colors so to speak. What’s not to love about love? But on the other hand, I hate the fact that people here in The US go bonkers if they don’t have a date on V Day. When they talk about Valentine’s Day it’s like they are planning their own funeral. I understand that it might be a cultural thing, which is why I don’t compute. But more so, and even sadder, I believe it is a commercial driven thing plotted by the capitalistic system that is luring people into the obscure believe that they are bad human beings and huge failures if they don’t have a special someone on February the 14th.

I’m absolutely terrified and completely taken and devoured by love. Yeah, perhaps a tad of commitment phobia and perhaps a tad of romanticism in my case. But it doesn’t take a genius to see that Valentine’s Day should be every day. On a smaller scale of course. Flowers, chocolates and huge dinners every day? No way! Ladies we would have to practically live in the gym. But if you try your best every day towards your lover, your family and your friends you can celebrate love every day. At least, that is my believe.

And on that note, it is sort of funny that I just received some photos from a shoot I did in Copenhagen a few weeks ago for the beautiful lingerie brand of Viola Sky. During my stay in the neck of my woods I worked closely with the amazing photographer Henrik Weis Sorensen and the ditto MUA Gabriella Tipsa Bruun. We chose to shoot some of Viola Sky’s Valentine’s pieces so I thought it appropriate to post them today. Hope you like them as much as I do
