Ellements Magazine Editorial and Sunday thoughts…. <3
In one week from today I’ll be on a plane back to my home in Los Angeles. Most likely hungover from the wedding the night before and most likely reminiscing positively and happily on an amazing trip to the neck of my woods – Denmark. I am so grateful for all the old and new friends and family I have in this part of the world who embrace me and like to see me when I hit town. One word; Thank you for still being there! <3
Today in particular it puts a smile on my face. I realize how crazy and fun the city of Copenhagen is when it comes to certain things. Like, for instance, last night we were a bunch of girls going to Club Sunday and most of the posse were on their bicycles. Same story getting our sweaty ‘derriers’ home from a huge night of massive dancing. (My feet are still killing me!)
Bicycling home in the wee hours was a reality check (since that’s how vikings roll. They go out late and stay out until the sun comes up. I kid you not). Riding my bike next to my sister and some other good girl friends we saw people having little parties in the street with music, beer and nothing, but good attitude. No violence, no anger. Only smiles and cheers. Yes there are a lot of drunks, but in my experience they are mostly just happy looking for a good time or a hotdog before they crash. It’s a fun and very down to earth culture and I like it a lot. The ‘groundedness’ makes me proud to be a viking.
That being said, I miss my home and my loved ones in LA. I can’t wait to get back and hit the ground running with amazing projects that we have lined up.
Ok, enough from my humble opinion today. This Sunday calls for an overload of ‘la dolce far niente’. Tmro morning I have an all-day shoot, which I’m looking forward to. But before I leave you I’m excited to share a new editorial I did with the gorgeous model slash photographer Anrike Piel in LA in July. She is so hot it’s ridiculous and we had a great time shooting ‘Day in the Sun’ for Ellements Magazine. Hope you enjoy the images… xoxo KK
