Downtown Fashion Show
After Jay-Z’s concert in The Staples Center in Downtown LA tonight a huge party was set up at a venue called the Conga Room. However, tonight there were no conga drums, but gazillions of Jay-Z people and fans and… us. Us being the up-and-coming fashion designer Lilia and her possé of assistants, photographers, models, hair and makeup. The designer is so fresh that she has not made her website yet, so I cannot give you the link.
Her brand is called Fuchsia – just like the color. I will provide the info as soon as she is up and running, because this chick creates really beautiful dresses that are both fantastic comfy to wear, make you look like a million Euros (sorry Americans ;-)..!), has perfect finish and are not over prized. A truly rare combination.
Tonight I was opening the fashion show and sporting 2 different dresses. One hot pink and one peach. Both in pure silk.
Here are some snap shots from the night…
Location Downtown LA
Me arriving. No makeup and tired after a long lunch with the Pinot Grigio Club ;-)… I’m wearing a brand new knitted tie-die dress from Object and jewels from Nialaya
Model Shelly..
Model from Vienna. We had a lot of catching up to do since I spent 2 months in Vienna modeling back in the days. A beautiful city, but very ‘old’ and too ‘nice’ on the surface for my taste.
But I remember that there was a really fucked up and crazy underground scene of artists, photographers and us… I remember one day at a go-see with my best friend in Vienna at that time, a model from Brazil, when she took a pregnancy test in this photographer’s bathroom while the photographer was shooting polaroids of me. Suddenly she came screaming out of the bathroom because she had found out that she was pregnant. DRAMA!!!!!

I’m not sure what the chairs are doing in the picture, but I kind of like them right there in the composition…no?
