Beautiful Hair

It happened again! I got so annoyed by my long, long locks that I decided to cut them myself. One morning I took the scissors from the kitchen drawer and carefully tried to copy what I have seen 100s of hair dressers and stylists do year after year. But for some reason the result just did not turn out exactly how I imagined. And seriously I really tried. But my hair was still stubbornly annoying to comb out the days after and I was also getting pretty fed up with my own ‘painted on’ high lights – I know crazy that I do it myself, but I’m so lazy when it comes to my haystack of hair.

Either way this morning I woke up and the first thing I did after my morning yoga (yes a brand new habit of mine) was to call the one person I can rely on when it comes to my hair. Eli Alon the alpha male. We met at the Romp London photo shoot back in December where he did hair and he tamed my mane like nobody’s business. Counting back I realize that I haven’t seen a hair stylist since December. Oops! Not so feminine. Here in LA and in The US in general women might be on the verge of a breakdown losing their house, kids, marriage, job you name it, but they always have very groomed hair. I’m not the same. When I feel like S### I look like S###. That goes for my locks too.

Anyways, so I called Eli who works at a salon called Shampoo on west 3rd street in West Hollywood and went there today and now I feel like a gem. A gem with amazing hair. As much as I love being a hippie child running around topless in the jungle with dreadlocks as much do I adore when my hair feels healthy, has shine and is easy to comb out.

I swore to Eli that I would not cut my hair again ever. A promise that I am set to keep because gosh I can tell the difference. Ok ’nuff of my rambling on about hair. Boring I know! But Sometimes little things can make me so happy. And don’t forget I’m a girl who has been in bed for 3 days with a sinus infection so this was my first contact with human kind in days.

Oh and PS – this is one for the ladies: This salon is run by Israelis and if you don’t know what I mean by that here it goes: A gorgeous and sexy woman greets you in the reception. Then you enter the actual salon, which is packed with gorgeous Israeli alpha males in tight t-shirts, trendy jeans with studs, cool hair does, lots of jewelry and scruffy beards who will take care of your locks. Not only are they avid in what they do, they look good when they do it and they are straight. I know. Bingo!

Ok, enough from me tonight. I’m headed out to a dinner at Chateau now with my friend Nadia who’s in town from Copenhagen. The day today kinda weighs up for the past 3 days in bed. But hey I did finish Bushnell’s ‘Summer in The City‘ and I’m half way through ‘Scott Fitzgerald’s’ The Beautiful and the Damned’.
