Baby I’m Back!
3 hours of sleep and then off to LAX to catch my 6 am flight to NYC. Boom!
After 4,5 hours on an overbooked Delta flight and a 55 usd taxi ride later I was on The Upper West Side ready for my chiropractor appointment. My back and ankle have been acting out lately and the only guy I know who can fix it is Dr. Harold Briks on West 75th. Completely spaced out, but grounded and relaxed after the treatment I went straight home to my friend and Co Founder of the theater company I’m working with and onwards up to the flat he is installing me in for the week.
No time for change of clothes, just to drop off bags and then en route to Brooklyn where we were invited to see a play. I almost bailed since I had barely slept, but Curiosity and the energy of the city did a solid 180 on me. I caught a second wind and suddenly I was on the subway in my skinny jeans, studded flat boots, messy hair, falafel in hand and Brooklyn bound.
The show was crazy and really entertaining. ‘Spiderman Turn on the Lights!’ We were lying down on mats in first row sipping on white wine while sexy cat women in latex bikinis and hot male dancers were flying around in ropes doing simulated sex scenes in air. And no, this was not happening at the infamous burlesque club The Box. This was Brooklyn baby!
Now I’m so tired and full of impression from my first day in NYC since January 2011. My phone is dead and I’m off to bed now. I have rehearsals in the am on the play I’m doing here.
Stay tuned for more NYC infotainment…
