New Book Sneak Peek

These days I’m tossing words, sentences and ideas from left to right to make ends meet. Hopefully this at times agonizing journey will turn into a fun, inspiring and entertaining book about the City that never sleeps. My lover, my soul mate, my teacher, mentor, lifeline and punisher on so many levels.

Next week we are publishing 10 pages, the cover and some of the pictures from the up and coming ‘NYC Head Over (High) Heels’, which will be out early next year.

Here are a couple of new blurbs from the new book that have not been published yet …. And some pics (on the theatrical side I’d say) shot in NYC in September by Warhol artist Anton Perich…

Falling for The Married Man

Meeting the married man and falling for him hard sucks. Meeting the married New Yorker man, falling in love with him and actually end up getting involved with him deeply sucks even more. Why? Firstly because the New Yorker man is just a tad more hardcore about his feelings when it comes to romantic relationships than any other species I have ever encountered. Meaning, he is perfectly fine with having casual sex whenever and wherever he pleases. In or out of a relationship does for some reason not count on the island of Manhattan. At least not to some of the die-hard New Yorker men I’ve come across on my path.

I recently asked one of my New York male friends if he ever had sex with two women. He answered bluntly: ‘You mean this week’? I laughed out loudly, but he was not joking. I was the only one laughing in the room. Oh! and did I mention he is in a relationship since 10 months with a 25-ish gorgeous model slash banker woman..? See, this situation sort of stings when you are still an ingenue in the city and not a die-hard dater on the New York scene just yet.

Secondly, and I hate to admit this part, the New York man is just a tad more handsome and sexy than the average man. Married or not. Period. They are usually well traveled, well conversed, the best in their field, they know their shit and do not take shit from anyone. It’s a no brainer. Women – strong or weak – successful or not successful are simply drawn to them like a moth to a flame.

But when you fall for the married New Yorker man, the simplicity of primal attraction becomes very, very complicated and complex…

Why you will learn next week. Stay tuned! 😉

Kristina…good writing, it was salacious enough to keep me wanting to read more but I am just curious: Do you (or whoever the ‘other woman’ is) take into consideration the feelings of the wife or significant other? How about their children? I don’t think it’s so cool to be “the other woman”.

It’s funny because I was having this conversation with my friends last night. One of my friend’s best friend cheated on his wife -with a man. So the wife is innocent at home with their kids, having sex with her husband who is going around spreading his juices, catching god knows what std’s . It doesn’t matter if the person cheats with a man or a woman, it is simply morally wrong and unfair to the unsuspecting party. There is also the chance of giving this innocent wife/mother/girlfriend an STD because her husband is slutting around without her knowledge.
……The point of this? Don’t cheat, just break up with the other party!

    Hey Miss H,

you are spot on! Cheating is awful and a waste of everybody’s time. Why don’t they break it off instead and move on…?

It’s a question I cannot answer and when I post more of the book you will learn that my writing is not about stepping out on one’s husband or wife. And I’m not here to judge anybody or any choice. Really. For me it’s about discovering aspects of yourself you didn’t know you posses. To explore humanity with all it’s good, bad and craziness. And also, when it comes to this particular chapter, to find out that love 10 or 15 years down the road after the honeymoon stage might not be as dandy as we wished it to be when we said our wows.

And also to discover, that some couples get by in different ways. Some actually like to swing… and not always together.

Enough from me now. I’m happy you found it interesting enough to read and I hope that you will stay tuned when I post more next week…

    xx KK

Yeah a part of me does feel that humans at their very basic nature are animals. And animals traditionally have multiple mates. I guess I just like to think that we are advanced animals…but I think really when it comes down to it, cheating is inevitable for some human animals.
