Tuesday Thoughts

I love coming home after a night out dancing to just sit in silence with a cup of peppermint tea and chill out while I look at the pictures I took during the night, contemplate about tomorrow’s to-dos and relax before bedtime.

I know I haven’t been that informative about my films lately. It’s because I have some really interesting projects coming up and I’m sort of being pushed into producing as well as acting in some future stuff. It’s all up in the air and has been for a while now and I’m sure you can understand that I don’t want to jinx anything by talking about it.

It’s LA. Anything can happen so I’m just doing my best every day. That’s all we can do in this life. Do our best. Be gentle towards ourselves and remember to give love away as much as possible.

And another thing: I don’t believe in failure. Everything is a part of the process, the path you choose to walk. That’s the beauty of it all. It’s only when you start to measure yourself with certain standards that you get jaded. My advice is: Don’t! Find out what your passion is and start walking. The only one who stands in your way is you. Leave fear behind and I’ll see you down the road somewhere, sometime when we both are ready.

Tomorrow I have a meeting with an acting coach. I haven’t worked with anyone since I graduated from Bill Esper’s Studio in NYC 2 years ago. I have been more or less semi on the look out for somebody for a while now. And this man was recommended to me by a producer friend of mine who knows everyone in Tinseltown.

I feel there is a change in my work and process. I know I’m very lucky to get a lot of auditions every week for feature films and actually book a lot of work too. But something has happened inside of me. Since a couple of months I’ve started to get more and more annoyed by the fact that you hardly get a real chance to prepare for these auditions. You never get to read the whole script so you can understand the dynamics and psychology of the characters in the project your are about to audition for. You usually get sides (1 – 4 pages of dialogue) you have to prepare and then go in and give it a shot. But my agitation comes from the fact that you hardly have a chance to get a serious feel of the character from 1 – 4 pages of text. The result is I’ve dropped most of those kind of auditions. Yeah… it sounds crazy, but I’d rather work really hard on the ones where I can read the script, prepare myself and do my best than doing a half ass job where I don’t feel anything.

So tomorrow, I’m meeting this man who might help me. I’m contemplating if I work with him once a week on stuff I’m either in the process of shooting or preparing an audition for I might feel more nurtured and like I’m actually developing my craft.

We will see how it goes after the meeting.

Anyways, here are some photos from tonight. Louise Kidde is a Danish journalist and kick-ass film critic who is in town to interview the whole Twillight cast. We met up at The Four Seasons Hotel for drinks and went dancing at MyStudio after.

I’m wearing my vintage shirt form the Jet-rag Sunday one-dollar sale, Dolce&Gabbana suede skirt, Chick With Guns Blazer, Chanel Purse and ruby heels. Jewelry is my grandmother’s.
