I’ve been back in The City of Angels for a week now and I’m slowly getting back into the jive. Sometimes I feel like I live on the Moon. Especially when I just had a reality check in my hometown of Copenhagen. I love my old city. It is so stylish, safe, beautiful and cute compared to other cosmopolitans. And the more I’m away, the more I see the charms of Copenhagen. Now, the city of Los Angeles is another ballgame. It is beyond crazy, fun, super demanding yet very inspiring if you look hard enough and invest energy into it. LA truly has a lot to offer.

I had this talk with my friend the other day about LA versus for instance NYC; I remember when I lived in NYC I felt inspired pretty much every hour of the day. I was bombarded with impressions 24-7. I could get anything at anytime at any rate and I hung out with devoted artists with tons of talent. I felt ‘fed’ and satisfied on the ‘artist account’.

In LA it is different. It is not as easy to get a daily fix of ‘art-infusion’ unless you really research, which can make you contemplate if this is the right city for you. It is definitely not a city for everybody. It’s tough as nails in it’s own ways and I see people either sinking or rising around me. Seems like there is no golden middle way. Especially not in my industry.

However, Looking back upon my last 4 years in LA I have done lots of movies, had my book published, worked with tons of super talented people, gotten my Green Card and traveled the World. So have I succeeded? And what is success really? I still believe the essence of happiness lies in being happy and present in the process, in the moment and not focusing too much on the endgame and result.

I guess when we measure success we can be our own hardest judge. What do you think?

Aura and I went to Le Petit Ermitage to hang out with some of my friends this Sunday. Massive Attack were DJ-ing and made the afternoon super suave and cool. We went down to change into swim suits and had a little fun photo shoot in the bathroom just the two of us.. hehe 😉

”See You on The Other Side”… A neon sign at Petit that pretty much sums up the atmosphere in the hotel.

After Petit and Massive Attack I was booked to model in a show for a designer friend at The Global Independence Day at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. I met the most random people there from all over the world at the banquet dinner party. A sherman, an Asian psychologist and a huge Bollywood Film Producer from Mumbai plus of course all the other models and performers.
