I’m an Adventure Whore

I admit it! I’m most definitely a whore for adventure. I absolutely love life when it’s unpredictable and exciting and this past Sunday falls into that category. Totally spur of the moment I packed a few things and jumped on a flight to Nicaragua for a few days before I start filming my new project this coming Saturday back in LA.

This trip is not going to be an ‘Exploration of the jungle trip’. It’s work mixed with pleasure. Photo shoots here we come! And when you only have a few days on your hands and still on antibiotics it’s probably wiser to stay focused. Also, I need to be 100% for my upcoming movie. But of course I like to mix everything with pleasure and I will make sure to snap some photos for the blog along the way.

Yesterday was all about styling the Nicaraguan Way. I was in the local Nica beauty store to get my hair and nails fixed for my shoot. I was told this team is the best in the country and they do ‘Miss Nicaragua’ every year. A beauty pageant, which is huge in Central and South America. Mind you; they even have schools here where you can learn to be a ”Miss Nicaragua”. I kid you not.

Anyways, it was a pretty fun experience to visit the salon: A cute, petit Nicaraguan man in very tight pants did my hair while a lady did my nails. They freaked over my hair color since they don’t meet a lot of blondes in this area even though it is Managua – the capital of Nicaragua. I freaked about my look ;-). Never had I seen so many ‘Hollywood Style Curls’ on my head. Jesus! Later we went shopping and had amazing sushi at one of the big hotels in the city.

Yes, I do love LA, but I also love to skip town once in a while. A shot from one of the many cute pools here in Nicaragua, A shot of the local drink, which is in season right now. My iphone didn’t quite catch the exuberant deep pink color this fruit has so it looks very dull here. Much better in real life. And a picture snapped in LAX on my way to board my flight….

Time for some bikini shopping and look what I found in the lingerie department: A ‘Butt Enhancer”. Yes, it’s true; all the sexy mamasitas in this part of the world swear to plastic boobs and butts. And if you can’t afford the surgery; Voila! Here is the solution hehe 😉
