How To Get a Flat Belly 101

After a little too much rock star life style in 2010 and a whole year of book writing i 2011, which nailed me to my chair day in and day out plus an ankle injury that put my running shoes to rest I found that I could use some advice on the subject: How to get a flat belly.

And now even more than ever since I am prepping for an upcoming role in a movie where I have to be cut, strong and kick-ass. As much as I love my curves and actually find that I work more as a model when I have a little more tits’n’ass it is now time to look a little leaner for the movie.

So I tried something called a ‘Hot Shell Colonic Detox’ the other day at Basho Spa in Copenhagen and it was a really good experience. and it is supposed to put you on your way to a flat belly. It takes 45 minutes and all you have to do is show up, lie down on a massage bed and let yourself ‘go’ while healer, yogi and beauty therapist Valentine takes you on a journey with her firm hands, a pink beach shell filled with a hot substance to loosen up your muscles and her calming energy.

Faced down on the bed, Valentine began to work on my lower back. A tender area for me and for a lot of females I hear. We girls have a tendency to stick our butts out a bit and arch our backs, which puts pressure on our lower back plus it automatically lets the stomach ‘fall out’ in front more. This does not mean we are ‘fat’. It means we need to work on our posture.

Later she turned me around and began to massage my belly and the deeper she went my intestines. I won’t lie; it hurt and was super uncomfortable in the beginning. Not only are there many ‘things’ stuck in the intestines that Valentine ‘ushers’ around and in the end out of the body, but also there are so many emotions stuck in the belly area. So it can be a mixed experience to get your intestines massaged. At least in the beginning. I recommend to try to  relax as much as possible and just go with what ever you experience. It is all beautiful and natural plus the hot, pink sea shell warms you up and relaxes your muscles so little by little you will find yourself enjoying it. I kid you not. I actually fell a asleep towards the end.

I came in flustered, hot and bothered from my bike ride to her Spa and thought I was grounded and in tune with myself, but after the treatment I was glowing and had a really good ‘gut feeling’ so to speak. I guess it is different from to day what you will find when you truly ‘feel’ your gut, but on this day I had a huge smile on my face for hours after. What a difference!

Ok, and what about the slimming effect you might ask; well the days after the treatment there are a lot of visits to the ‘ladies’ room’ so to speak. Sorry, but I don’t know how else to phrase it. Also, Valetine is right when she says that this treatment will help you to not over eat or eat junk since it helps you stay in tune with your body’s needs and not what your mind thinks it needs. Makes sense?

Of course I still have to do cardio and my hot yoga to get a better posture and be more fit, but I can truly recommend this treatment to anyone who would like to get rid of that annoying bloated feeling or if you ever feel constipated or just in a bad mood and need a ‘pick-me-up’ fix.
