Catch up

Happy Mother’s Day people!

Today my two great grandmothers would have had their birthdays were they still with us. A thought that takes me back to the days where the whole family would travel from all over the World to celebrate the oldest person in the family. It is rare I hear that people do that anymore. Unless you are in Sicily of course.

Anyways, enough melancholy. What has been going on since last time? The quick sum up goes something like this: ‘Penning down insider stuff about NYC, gym, Netflix, interviews, Fig & Olive, more writing, reading, yoga, auditions, negotiations with up coming projects (aaarggh!!), Netflix, Chardonnay on ice, sushi and more writing’.

I know; boring and very predictable. And I don’t do so well with predictable. I get impatient very easily. However, it feels good to finish projects even though I at times find myself extremely restless and wondering WTF I was thinking months back when I truly believed that this project was a good idea and easy to wrap. The truth? No larger projects are easy to wrap. Especially not when you are like me: A perfectionist who knows exactly what and how she wants it.

And another truth: I find it hard to get into my ‘zone of writing’ if I have to be out and about too. Writing is an internal process that I can only do alone. I cannot worry about other people or how I look, while I’m in that zone. I’m well aware that this might seem self centered. It is. But it should be my choice how I wish to live my life right? And hands down: I wish it was different. That I was one of those beings who got up at 7 am and wrote like nobody’s business. I have tried it on for size and unfortunately it doesn’t fit. So what am I getting at…. hahah I have no clue! 🙂  I’m exploring and exploring and the more I find out the less I know. But realizing this only makes me want to explore more… Curiosity is my middle name and there is nothing I can do about it.

Hope you all have wonderful Sundays. Here are a couple of images from LA

Haha this photo was taken in my apartment just before Natasha and I went up to our rooftop by the pool to enjoy home made Mimosas made with pure Orange juice and Vintage Dom Perignon form 1988.  Yeah life sucks 😉
