Camping, Filming and Back to One
Hello friends,
I’m writing you somewhere in the sky above Arizona – I think. I’m cuddled up in my flight seat in my daisy dukes, flat fringe boots, a leather jacket and messy hair trying to remember what happened since I wrote last time. I’m en route to LA after a crazy, but really lovely time road-tripping it with my family.
After Kite surfing in Long Beach we went to Arizona where we stopped to breath for a moment at the most beautiful mountain lake. The water was fresh and cold in gorgeous surroundings and for a minute it felt like vacation. The silence, the beauty. Wow! We swam and played for an hour before we were New Mexico bound. My 2 American siblings, Felicia and Leif, were born in New Mexico, my dad lived there for 20 years and I have lived there too. So it is always such a pleasure to return. NM is still my favorite state and I wish I had more time now to explore nature, the spiritual communities and underground music and yoga scene.
Vacation aside, we also filmed at The Santa Fe institute for our documentary and I am beyond excited to wake up tmro in LA and watch all the footage we have so far.
Monday morning I did something totally out of character; I agreed to go camping and sleep in a tent (!). Truth be told, I am not a big fan of tents and last time I had to deal with a tent was in 1997 at the Danish Roskilde Music Festival (where it rained non-stop). Anyhow, off we went into the Jemez mountains where no man nor cell reception can reach. We camped, lit a bonfire, cooked, drank, shot guns, told bad jokes and stories and I have to admit I really, really enjoyed it. And we had no rain – yay! I actually had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in weeks in that friggin’ tent. Can you believe it?
This morning we got up and after breakfast we went to the famous Jemez hot springs. I’ve been there many times when I was younger and I love the fact that you can sit in super hot spring water overlooking the most gorgeous nature you can imagine while livestock flourish in 3D around you. It’s the best and fastest healing method in the world. Directly from the hot springs we hauled ass down to Alburquerque where I had to get on my plane. So weird to be back in civilization smelling like a sweaty bear and looking like Mowgli from the jungle book.
Here are a few pictures from the past days. I am so grateful that my family and I take these ‘National Lampoon’s’ kinda trips once a year. Even though it is hard to fit everyone’s schedule and the wishes of activities are not always the same, it is just lovely to reconnect with this side of the family and do crazy stuff together. I love you all! <3

Felicia, my sister and her boyfriend Brian under an umbrella. Dad and I goofing around on the hike to the hot springs.
My brother Leif caught a garder snake as we were walking towards a little mountain lake somewhere in Arizona. It is not dangerous. Matter of fact, it is a guarantee that there are no rattle snakes in the area. The lake picture is of my sister Felicia standing on the shoulders of my dad.
Packing for the camping trip and other New Mexican things that make you go ‘hmmmm’….
Filming @ The Santa Fe Institute. FUN!!! 🙂
Team shot after wrap in New Mexico. Next stop is Denmark where we will be filming next….
