Life

7 Seconds

Some days are amazingly and simply not worth getting out of bed to experience. Period! If you don’t know what I mean stop reading right now! I don’t want to know you and you probably don’t want to know a whiny bitch like me. I have a day like that today. A day in Hell. It’s like my body is not responding. It’s moving in slow motion and hurting like I’ve done 5 hours of Pilates (which I haven’t). My mind has a black out and my energy level is

Soldier of LOVE

I’ve lost the use of my heart But I’m still alive Still looking for the life The endless pool on the other side It’s a wild wild west I’m doing my best I’m at the borderline of my faith, I’m at the hinterland of my devotion In the frontline of this battle of mine But I’m still alive I’m a soldier of love. Every day and night I’m soldier of love All the days of my life This is Sade’s new single. I’m a big fan of her and I’m

Film Festivals

Hey Hey, One of my films ‘Omar Saved from Cheating’ has made into a couple of film festivals here in Cali. I’m excited on behalf of the director Osei Kakari, crew and cast and I’m hoping this is only a beginning for our little film. Though small, it’s an intense story with a strong voice and message… The Pan African Film Festival 2010. San Diego Film Festival 2010 GemGem

No Rain No Rainbow

After 5 days of constant rain in the City of Angels this vision appeared in front of me cruising north on La Cienega… …and then later in the day; the view from my house…

Sometimes it happens that I’m too stressed out about stuff and it ruins my sleep. I stress about the fact that I’m not seeing my friends enough, I miss my family and I feel we are growing apart because I’ve chosen to live in the other side of the Planet. I’m not as fast a runner as I used to be, my butt is not as firm as it used to be, the critical situation in Haiti and feeling helpless about it, my career, my relationships, my next movie….. Big

Girls will be Girls

Lehang and I fooling around with my camera before we are headed out to the Drag Queen show in Boys’ Town. What can I say; Girls will be girls… Lehang is wearing vintage from Amsterdam and Marc Jacobs boots. The red pout she gets by using red beet juice on her lips. Then a layer of MAC lipstick and then top it with gloss. I’m wearing gold tights from Chick with Guns, t-shirt by Forver21 and denim vest from Object. Red lipstick from Maybelline.

Last night my friend Lehang and I went to an area in LA called Boys’ Town. It’s a funky and fun area where a lot of the gay community live and hang out. We went to RAGE, a club on Santa Monica Blvd and watched their Tuesday Night Drag show. It was hilarious. When I lived in NYC I’d go out a lot to drag parties and celebrate life with the boys in their 12 inch heels and pretty lip gloss. It is such an awesome place and environment to

J’ADORE DIOR

Ha! Spotted: One Dior hand bag waaaay back in my closet. I bought the beauty on a spontaneous shopping spree in NYC before the economy kicked my ass. AHHHH what joy to find it on a stormy day like this. I’m wearing a top from Forever21 (yeah, I know. Previously I’d rather drop dead than get caught in that teeny-bop shop, but recession teaches you a lesson or two. Forever21 rocks when it comes to catching up on the latest without paying an arm or a leg for it.) Bag
