Leaving Las Vegas

I’m on the flight, Los Angeles bound sitting contemplating on the past 3 weeks of filming in and around Las Vegas. Desert Life…

Random weather with crazy off season monsoon-like rain showers created flash flooding in the desert around and in Downtown Las Vegas last Thursday. The unheard of weather conditions for the season changed our shooting schedule around a bit. And because one of our actors had to fly back to Europe this morning we had to use Saturday as a full production day even though we usually have the weekends off. Wow! I had the most crazy action packed day. From early morning until sunset I was beating shit to pieces with a baseball bat, fighting my enemy with a knife and getting my ass kicked too. It was super intense, hardcore and fun. Everything was planned and mapped out to every single detail so nobody got hurt. Yet still, the scenes look extremely violent. Today’s shoot is over and after a dip in the pool, a shower and dinner we watched dailies. For those of you who are not familiar with that term ‘dailies’ I will explain it right here: ‘Dailies’ is the footage shot in one day that the director watches every day after a shoot.  I never watch my takes during my day, but in some productions I do find it very helpful to to watch dailies at night to see what the camera caught during the day to see where I’m
