Today I had a fitting downtown at the Marriot Hotel for a fashion show tomorrow night. It’s for a Japanese designer who’s in town showing his new ideas. His look is very street and ‘Tokyo’. Fun a tad over the top and futuristic. What’s a ‘fitting’ you ask? It’s a meeting between you and the designer where he or she has you try on different outfits from the collection to see how it looks on you. Today I was booked for one day’s shoot with actor/producer/director Brian Hooks. I got up at 5 am and drove to the location in the Harbor in San Pedro one hour south of LA. It’s always exciting to discover the dynamics and energy on a new set. What’s the pace, what’s the tone etc. etc. Today was a nice surprise. Everybody was fun, pleasant and low key and the scenes we did were pure comedy. Brian is a genius when it comes to improvising. He made us all crack up
Yesterday Jon Barnes invited me to a small and closed event in The Hills. The BBq was on, the pool was heated and the Chardonnay was on ice. Often the normal concept of a pool party in Hollywood has a ‘rave feel’ to it. Picture 100s of young, sweaty and drunk Los Angelinos dancing to loud techno music blasting out from distorted speakers. Not a pretty sight to say the least. But hey, who am I to judge. ha ha :-). Anyways, yesterday was more … shall we say ‘sophisticated’
Sometimes it happens you come across an artist with such a magnificent talent that you just have to bow in the dust. LP is one of those. I have mentioned her before. A super talented singer that among others performs at the Hollywood Club Bardot on Thursdays. I know I just made a mention about Bardot, but I just discovered this video with LP and I wanted to share it. And I just have to say; she is much better live…. PS : I’m wearing object biker jacket, vintage shirt
