December 2010

Getting ready for NYE 2010/2011 is not for the faint hearted, nor the sloppy crowd. Not that I’m too interested in the actual party nor the venue. No-no. But I’m very, very interested in the company, the food, the wine, the music and atmosphere. Be it in LA, NYC, Bangkok, Munich on an airplane headed somewhere exotic or in my hometown Copenhagen. What matters to me is that I’m surrounded by friends and family. This year I’m so lucky that we had time to do a ‘pre NYE’ in my

Beauty Column

Hey beautiful people! I have my personal column in the publication Go Beauty where I dish about all the newest treatments, products and trends within beauty, wellness and crazy Los Angeles fun stuff. In this issue I met up with one of the leading doctors in L.A. and he gave me the show down of what the latest trends are within treatments and products. Next issue will focus on how the celebs prepare for The Grammys. So stay tuned!

Got back into Copenhagen yesterday just in time for the glorious, traditional family Christmas party at my mother’s house. All my Danish siblings, step siblings and their babies, boyfriends, husbands and pets were there and I’m still contemplating how it is possible to eat, drink and talk so much in such a short time span. I ended up at the legendary ‘Funky Crime’ concert at Drop Inn – an old Copenhagen dive bar. Yes, the band members were intoxicated while performing and yes they didn’t always stay in tune. But

Oh Brother!

Do you know the feeling when it seems just like last week when you sat on the floor with your little brother drawing dinosaurs and playing with transformers and the next thing you know he is 6’4”, an athlete champion and so good with the ladies it’s not even funny…? Well, this christmas it dawned on me how many weeks must have past since that time on the floor with the transformers and the crayons…. Here are a couple of shots I took of my brother Leif yesterday when we

A white Christmas

This year is different. I’m spending Christmas in legendary author Hans Christian Andersen’s hometown Odense. My father and my 2 American siblings moved into their brand new penthouse on December 22nd here in this little, cute, remote city. So everything is indeed very, very different…. But in a good way different. Even though most of their interior is still sort of in boxes and being decorated as we go along the Christmas spirit is high here in the state of Denmark. The kitty, Avatar keeps climbing the Christmas tree so

Copenhagen Love

Heartbeat, clammy palms, wide open eyes, no sleep, excitement. The last few days before I fly into my hometown Copenhagen I’m always super excited, nervous and happy to see my family and friends. I rarely get any sleep and arrive dead tired with a jet-lag the size of Australia. This time around was no different. I came from NYC where I worked for 6 days, which usually helps on the jet-lag situation. I mean, not flying all the way form LA to Copenhagen, but only dealing with the 6 hour

Kitty Kitty

Yesterday I had a meeting with the Argentinian/Danish artist Juan Hein here in Copenhagen. I’m inspired by Juan’s photography and we are talking about doing some work together while I’m in town. He has some pretty radical ideas that have sparked my interest. Political, critical, provocative yet beautiful and with a very personal twist. Juan is the grandson of Piet Hein, who among other achievements is famous for his ‘Grooks’ that I remember reading in newspapers. I even think I still have a small collection of Piet Hein’s writings. So

Here are a couple of photos from a shoot I did with Parisian photographer Chervine on my last day in NYC before I jetted off to the neck of my woods Copenhagen. More to come plus pick ups from NYC and new stuff from snowy Copenhagen shot with my new G12 :-)…

Shooting Will

The last couple of days I have been shooting a music video for the super talented recording artist Pete Pidgeon and his song ‘Will’. We shot in a variety of different locations in and around NYC, but mostly in Brooklyn. And being an old ‘Brooklynite’ it was such a beautiful walk down memory lane to be back in the different old neighborhoods. And it’s amazing how different Manhattanites and ‘Brooklynites’ are. The pace and attitude are worlds apart. We shot in old theaters, in cozy cafes, in limos, in high

Romp London Videos…

I just got home from a loooonnng and exhausting, but very very fun day at the ‘office’ here in NYC where I’m currently shooting. I will tell you more about that after tomorrow when we wrap. I just received a couple of little videos I shot with Jonathan Wareham for Romp London. I am in love with the London based designer’s universe … Brigitte Bardot meets Lauren Hutton, Sofia Loren and Vanessa Paradis. Meow…. 😉 There is still one more video in the makes. I will keep you posted. All
